Tierpark Lange Erlen

Tierpark Lange Erlen and its collection

Tierpark Lange Erlen, opened in 1871, is a zoo in Basel, Switzerland.

Founded in 1871 together with its carrier association, the Erlen-Verein, the park specialises in native animals and positions itself as a complement to the city's zoo. Roughly 450 trees stand on the site, ranging from weeping copper beech to giant sequoia. Entry is free during daylight hours.
