Zoo de Mulhouse — Zoo in Mulhouse
Zoo de Mulhouse and its collection
Zoo de Mulhouse, opened in 1868, is a zoo in Mulhouse, France.
The plant collection numbers 3,500 species and varieties, 837 of them woody, and includes eighteen notable trees dating from an 1867 planting by the landscape gardener Geiger Père. Serbian spruce, western red cedar and Japanese cedar are among the specimens. Founded in 1868 by a group of industrialists under Charles Thierry-Mieg fils, it passed through the Société industrielle before the town took it over in 1893, and is now run by the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération authority, with the vet Benoît Quintard in charge since 2024.
