Zoo Veldhoven and its collection

Zoo Veldhoven, opened in 2014, is a zoo in Veldhoven.

Many of the animals may be hand-fed, and guided visits are offered.

History

It began in 1992 as a project of the Dutch parrot rescue foundation. Visitor numbers collapsed after a critical broadcast of the programme Radar on 12 January 2009, although the national inspectorate had said that welfare requirements were being met.

Animals and collection

The collection specialises in birds, above all raptors, cranes, owls, parrots, toucans and hornbills. Coatis, ringtails and reptiles are also kept.

• Zoo Veldhoven is goed toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers.
• Voor wie het niet mogelijk is om een eigen rolstoel mee te nemen, hebben we enkele rolstoelen die kosteloos gebruikt kunnen worden.
• Vanaf de parkeerplaats leiden twee poorten naar de ingang van het park . Met kinderwagen/rolstoel kun je het beste de linkerpoort nemen, dan kom je via een geasfalteerde weg bij de ingang uit.
