ZooParc Overloon and its collection

ZooParc Overloon, opened in 2000, is a zoo in Overloon.

The park belongs to the Libéma leisure group and to the Dutch zoo association, and has been licensed as a zoo since 2003.

History

It opened on 21 April 2000 as an addition to a botanical garden that had been running since 1986 and was noted for its herb collection. The first year brought fifteen enclosures, mostly of small species, along with the Maidan walkthrough holding Asian deer, pelicans and cranes. The formal opening ceremony took place only on 19 June 2002.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include fossa's, leeuwen, luiaards, giraffen and dril.

What the venue says

• Nieuw horecapunt bij Ngyuwe , midden in het park.
• Two parking lots are available (one directly opposite the main entrance and another across the road). Parking costs €7.50 per regular vehicle (or €5 for subscription holders) and includes designated disabled parking spaces.
• The park is wheelchair-accessible, featuring accessible paths and disabled toilets with support rails on-site.
• Wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge, though advance reservation via email or phone is required.
• Due to the walk-through enclosures where animals roam freely without fences, pets and assistance/guide dogs are not permitted.
