Tabor Zoo and its collection
Tabor Zoo, opened in 2015, is a zoo in Tábor, Czech Republic.
The zoo covers nearly 10 hectares, making it the largest in southern Bohemia, and sits in the village of Větrovy on the town's south-eastern edge. Founded in May 2015, it is among the youngest zoos in the country. Evžen Korec, who owns the Prague developer Ekospol, has run it since that month.
History
A predecessor garden at Větrovy started in July 2011 but money trouble ended it after four years, in spring 2015. The successor is an entirely new company under a new owner. Some 25,000 people visited in the first month after reopening.
Animals and collection
Animals on show include AMAZOŇAN ŽLUTOKRKÝ, ARA ARAKANGA, ARA ARARAUNA, ARA ZELENOKŘÍDLÝ and ARATINGA TMAVOHLAVÝ.
Exhibits
Its exhibits include Kontaktní zoo, Záchranné centrum CITES pro chladnomilné šelmy and Záchranné centrum CITES pro teplomilné šelmy.
