Raritätenzoo Ebbs is a zoo in Ebbs, Austria.

History

The first enclosures and shelters were built by hand at the Kruck during the 1970s, and the first visitors were admitted in May 1991. The bird park kept expanding and later gained recognition as a scientifically directed zoo. After 2000 it declined for a spell, with money extremely tight.

Animals and collection

As of 2011 it showed 600 animals in over 80 species, among them kangaroos, assorted monkeys and lemurs, maned wolves, giant tortoises, collared peccaries and several kinds of bird. A farmyard section keeps chickens, peafowl, pot-bellied pigs and dwarf rabbits.

There is also an on-site bistro/café providing snacks and refreshments, and the entire park is designed to be easily accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
