Liberec Zoo and its collection

Zoo Liberec, opened in 1001, is a zoo in Liberec, Liberec Region, Czech Republic.

The country's oldest zoological garden, it was established in 1904 in a valley of the municipal wood behind Labutí jezírko and grew into the adjoining municipal park, run since the later 19th century by the Friends of Nature society founded locally in 1849. It grew out of an initiative by local bird and small animal keepers in the Ornithological Society.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include takin čínský, zebra bezhřívá, sob lesní, levhart sněžný and margay.
