Landgoed Hoenderdaell — Zoo in Anna Paulowna
Landgoed Hoenderdaell and its collection
Landgoed Hoenderdaell is a zoo in Anna Paulowna.
The 64-hectare park lies on a spit between the Lage Oude Veer and the N249, and combines housing, the zoo and large grazers, with 32 of the hectares open to the public. Stichting Leeuw and SOS Dolfijn are based on site.
History
A permit application in 1989 covered arable or horticultural use combined with the keeping and breeding of animals. The estate took shape in 1992, when farmland became a nature park containing the zoo, and several villas were also built on the property. The zoo itself opened to visitors in 2008.
