Dierenpark Sanjeszoo — Zoo in De Westereen

Dierenpark Sanjeszoo and its collection

Dierenpark Sanjeszoo is a zoo in De Westereen.

The Bruinenberg nature museum occupies the first floor of the main building. Since 2020 the zoo has formed a single unit with the neighbouring play park and amusement park.

History

It opened in 2012 as an addition to two existing Sanjes attractions, and the Bruinenberg nature museum relocated there from Dokkum in 2013. A rebuild in 2019 and 2020 rerouted a cycle path that had cut the grounds in two.
