ZOOPARK — Zoo in Næstved Municipality

ZOOPARK and its collection

ZOOPARK is a zoo in Næstved, Denmark.

The grounds cover nearly nine hectares of hilly ground. Stock includes Bengal tiger, European lynx, camels, kangaroos, alpacas, rheas, monkeys, coatis and reptiles. There is also a large natural playground and a souvenir shop.

History

It started in 2007 as Næstved Zoo under its founder, Peter Bo Rasmussen. Bankruptcy followed in 2009, after which it changed hands and was renamed Næstved Børnezoo. A further sale in 2011, to Sébastien Lambert, brought the present name and the season running from Easter to the autumn holiday that has been kept ever since.
