Toronto Zoo and its collection
Toronto Zoo, opened in 1974, is a zoo in Toronto, Canada.
At 287 hectares this is the largest zoo in Canada, drawing about 1.2 million visitors a year. The grounds are laid out in seven zoogeographic regions.
Exhibits
The Canadian Domain lies in the Rouge Valley, and Tundra Trek opened in 2009 on ground formerly used for exhibits of the Americas. Indo-Malaya has a plaza and two pavilions given over to the plants and animals of South and Southeast Asia. The Africa section can be reached only by way of the Indo-Malaya or Americas areas.

Things to do include Meet the Guardians, Golf Cart Tours and Splash Island.
Conservation and approach
Breeding work at the zoo has led to species being returned to the wild.
