Shambala Preserve and its collection

Shambala Preserve, opened in 1972, is a zoo in Acton, United States.

It is run by the Roar Foundation and was started in 1983 by the actress Tippi Hedren. Most of the residents were captive-bred, orphaned, surplus to circuses or zoos, or surrendered by private keepers.

Animals and collection

The big cats cared for here include African lions, Siberian and Bengal tigers, leopards, servals, mountain lions and bobcats. A lynx, a Florida panther and a liger are also held.
