Rolling Hills Zoo and its collection
Rolling Hills Zoo, opened in 1999, is a zoo in Salina, United States.
The site sits 6 miles west of the I-70/I-135 junction and 2.5 miles south of Exit 244, past the settlement of Hedville. Over 100 animal species are held across its exhibits, and a wildlife museum of 64,000 square feet forms part of it.
History
The Salina businessman Charlie Walker bought land in the west of the county in the early 1980s, and a big barn for Belgian horses marked the start of Rolling Hills Ranch. Hundreds of schoolchildren came each year to the Main Barn to learn about draft horses.
