Planète Sauvage — Zoo in Port-Saint-Père
Planète Sauvage and its collection
Planète Sauvage, opened in 1992, is a zoo in Port-Saint-Père, France.
Founded in 1992 by Monique and Dany Laurent, and carrying a safari name until 1998, the park covers about 85 hectares with roughly 1,100 animals of 120 species. It splits into a drive-through safari and a walking area holding one of only two dolphinariums in mainland France, with bottlenose dolphins. Compagnie des Alpes operated it for a decade from 2005 to 2015, and it has since been owned by Looping Group, whose main shareholder is PAI Partners.

Conservation and approach
Although not an EAZA member, the park funds nature protection groups, and it backed a Mer Fragile study of wild cetaceans off the Loire estuary. It set up the French branch of the German group Yaqu Pacha in 2005 and supports the Dutch stranding charity SOS Dolfijn.
