Zoo de La Flèche and its collection

Zoo de La Flèche, opened in 1946, is a zoo in La Flèche, France.

Founded in 1946 by the naturalist Jacques Bouillault, the zoo claims 1,500 animals of 160 species over 18 hectares. It has been owned since 2017 by Looping Group, whose main shareholder is the Abu Dhabi fund Mubadala.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include otaries de Californie, manchots de Humboldt, pandas roux, tigres de Sumatra and ours Grizzlys.

Things to do

Things to do include Free-flight bird presentation, Commented feeding of the California sea lions and BALUDIK treasure hunt.

Conservation and approach

As an EAZA member it is committed to around forty breeding programmes: 25 European endangered species programmes and 15 European stud-books, covering over a third of its species. Programme species include the Humboldt penguin, African elephant, polar bear and Goeldi's monkey.
