Łódź Zoo and its collection

Miejski Ogród Zoologiczny w Łodzi Sp. z o.o.(Lodz Zoo), opened in 1938, is a zoo in Łódź, Poland.

Dating from 1938, the zoo was thoroughly rebuilt in 2022 around the Orientarium, a complex devoted to South-East Asia. Since that rebuild it has held 3,350 animals of 554 species. It has belonged to WAZA since 1975 and to EAZA since 1993.

Animals and collection

A southern cassowary hatched on 7 July 2014 and three more in May 2016. A male lynx was born in May 2015 and a binturong in February 2019.
