Xpark — Aquarium in Qingpu Village
Xpark and its collection
Xpark, opened in 2020, is an aquarium in 桃園市, Taiwan.
History
The aquarium is run by the Taiwanese arm of Yokohama Hakkeijima and opened on 7 August 2020. In 2022 it took part in an environmental education themed exhibition mounted by the city's environment bureau, and from April 2023 it backed National Geographic's Animal Ark project.
Things to do
Things to do include Xpark meets NAKED - Ocean of Light (immersive light exhibition), Sleepover at Xpark and Animal Crossing x Xpark interactive marine life exhibition.
Conservation and approach
A sea turtle conservation centre was set up with the city government in 2023, after Mayor Zhang Shanzheng noted that one or two turtles strand on local beaches each month. Turtles brought in for treatment have been found with plastic and fish hooks inside them.
