St. Augustine Aquarium is an aquarium in St Augustine, United States.

The aquarium is at 2045 FL-16. It opened in 2016 and keeps upwards of 250 animals.

History

It was founded by a married couple, Shawn and Kathy Hiester, he with a background in design and building work and she in sales, marketing and biology. Planning took them more than two years, and the site first intended for it was a disused landfill in Lincolnville.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include starfish, horseshoe crabs, Cownose rays, Southern Rays and Eel.

Exhibits

Snorkel Adventure is an open-air tank of 80,000 gallons holding more than 100 Florida and Caribbean fish species; snorkelling in it costs extra.

Things to do include Snorkel Adventure, Shark Painting Experience, Touch & Identify experience, Shark Meet & Greet and Archery.
