Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park and its collection

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, opened in 2018, is an aquarium in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.

The park combines rides, animal displays, shows and an on-site hotel, and is the operator's second theme park in the country. One half is tundra-themed around a snow-capped mountain, the other tropical around a volcano.

History

It had been under development since 2012 or earlier, and was first proposed for a long narrow strip east of Dishui Lake. Three design firms were each paid a full fee to draw up entirely separate parks, and local officials then chose the design they liked. The grand opening was on 16 November 2018.

• The park features paved pathways, accessible indoor hall entries, and stroller rental services near the guest services center to assist families with young children and visitors requiring mobility support
