Longleat and its collection
Longleat, opened in 1966, is a safari park in United Kingdom.
The park occupies the estate of Longleat House, a stately home open to visitors and the residence of the 8th Marquess of Bath. The safari areas take in an East African Reserve, Jungle Cruise, Monkey Temple, a giant otter and crocodile reserve, Animal Adventure and Koala Creek. The Longleat Railway is among the other attractions.
History
Jimmy Chipperfield (1912–1990), once a co-director of Chipperfield's Circus, devised the park and the safari park idea itself.
Animals and collection
Animals on show include Amur tigers, grey wolves, rhesus macaques, scimitar-horned oryx and Bactrian camels.
Exhibits
Its exhibits include African Village, Big Game Park, Deer Park, Tiger Territory and Lion Country.
Things to do
Things to do include Drive-Through Safari, Walking Safari, Boat Safari and Safari Bus.
