Kaiserslautern Zoo and its collection
Kaiserslautern Zoo, opened in 1968, is a zoo in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Around 112 animal species and over 500 individual animals are presented on seven hectares, along with a nature trail.
Exhibits
A group of Asian small-clawed otters is housed at the main entrance, and a lemur enclosure of 1,100 square metres was inaugurated in August 2016. A savanna enclosure opened for the zoo's anniversary in 2018. The tropical house, next to the falconry, holds squirrel monkeys, sloths and various reptiles, while the petting zoo section was built with the educational aim of introducing children to animals through play.
