Haute Touche Zoological Park and its collection
Haute Touche Zoological Park, opened in 1958, is a zoo in Obterre, France.
436 hectares of woods, grassland and ponds make it one of the five biggest zoological parks in France, with about 100 hectares open to visitors. Close to 120 species are kept, among them Eld's deer, sambar, Barasingha, hog deer, addax, timneh parrot and Nubian ibex.

Conservation and approach
Breeding programmes for species facing extinction have run since 2002, and a conservation breeding centre for the little bustard, a threatened European bird, was built in 2007. The Muséum national d'histoire naturelle applies strict protection to the site.
