Happ's Reptilienzoo and its collection
Happ's Reptilienzoo, opened in 1976, is a zoo in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Austria.
History
Friedrich Happ (1920–2000) founded it on 1 April 1976, realising a lifelong ambition. Funding came largely from his own money, earned by giving talks and mounting displays in natural history museums, and his aim was to press the case for protecting snakes and to counter people's fear of reptiles.
Animals and collection
The snakes on show span the reticulated python as the largest constrictor, the taipan as the most venomous and the king cobra as the largest venomous species, while the lizards and crocodilians include dwarf crocodiles and rhinoceros iguanas. Emphasis falls on reptiles currently native to central Europe.

Its exhibits include Sauriergarten, Teich für die faunenfremden Wasser – und Schmuckschildkröten, Neue Anlage für die Landschildkröten and 3 neue Anlagen für die Galapagos- und Seychellen Riesenschildkröten.
