Parco Zoo Punta Verde and its collection
Parco Zoo Punta Verde, opened in 1979, is a zoo in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy.
The zoo occupies about 10 hectares on the left bank of the Tagliamento.
History
It was founded on 19 June 1979, on ground bought in 1972 that had previously been a plant nursery. The owner, Sergio Rodeano, built up the collection over the years, beginning with ornamental ducks. In 2023 the flamingo emblem gave way to a trio of stylised animals.
Animals and collection
A daily enrichment and training scheme is run, involving both the keepers and the animals.
