Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium and its collection
Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium, opened in 2008, is a zoo in New Orleans, United States.
Part of the Audubon Nature Institute group, the combined attraction dates in its present form from 8 June 2023, when it reopened after moving out of the U.S. Custom House Federal Building and onto the aquarium site. The insect museum had first opened on 13 June 2008, and it took a Thea Award in the science centre category the following year.
What the venue says
- The complex does not have an exclusive onsite parking garage, but there are multiple nearby public parking lots and garages within walking distance that often offer discounted rates for aquarium visitors.
- The facility is fully wheelchair accessible, with elevator access between levels, wheelchair rentals available on a first-come, first-served basis, and designated handicap parking spaces near the entrance.
