Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park — Zoo in Gibraltar
Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park and its collection
Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park, opened in 2002, is a zoo in Gibraltar, United Kingdom.
History
It started in 1994 with parrots, tortoises and monkeys seized from smugglers passing through, which customs officers handed to GONHS. In 1996 volunteers converted a long-neglected miniature golf course into the park.
Animals and collection
Mammals include three species of macaque along with cotton-top tamarin and small-clawed otter. The bird collection is weighted towards parrots, among them conures, amazons and lories.
