Is SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Worth It?
Yes, if you want a full day of indoor marine encounters and don't mind paying theme-park prices for it. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi fills eight realms across 183,000 square metres on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, under a roof it bills as the largest indoor marine-life theme park, for a single AED 375 ticket that already includes parking and a shuttle bus. Treat it as a full day out and it earns that price; treat it as a two-hour add-on to a longer trip and it won't.
What Not to Miss
Featured location SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates It opened on 23 May 2023 on Yas Island and is billed as the only park of its kind in the region. It was built as five indoor levels over 183,000 square metres. It holds certification from American Humane's international welfare programme.SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opened in May 2023 and organizes its eight realms "from the poles to the tropics." Antarctica keeps six penguin species, including macaroni, rockhopper and king penguins. Endless Ocean holds what the park calls the world's largest multi-species marine-life aquarium, home to more than 68,000 animals. Tropical Ocean holds the Manta Coaster, one of only two rides in the whole park, so don't come expecting a rides-first day.
Beyond the realms, the park runs more than 35 interactive experiences, 17 dining venues and 13 retail outlets, so a full day here means eating and shopping on-site rather than leaving Yas Island for lunch.
Tickets and Saving Money
A single-day ticket costs AED 375, as of September 2026, with one price covering all ages rather than separate adult and child rates. Children aged 2 and under go free with a paying adult. The ticket already includes free parking and a complimentary shuttle bus, so don't budget separately for getting to the gate once you're on Yas Island.
If you're seeing more than one Yas Island park, a multi-park ticket lets you pair SeaWorld with Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld or Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on the same dated ticket, worth checking before buying single-day tickets separately.
If you also want to see the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi on the same trip, general admission there is AED 110 for its 10 thematic zones, as of September 2026, or AED 150 for a Combo Tour that adds the Butterfly Gardens, the National Geographic Pristine Seas exhibit, a Wildlife Rescue Tour and the Glass Bridge Walk. Its online tickets stay valid for two weeks from purchase, so you can buy ahead without committing to one date.
Getting There
SeaWorld sits on Yas Island, about 25 minutes from central Abu Dhabi and about 75 minutes from Dubai's airport. The free Yas Express shuttle connects the island's hotels and theme parks, though a SeaWorld ticket already includes its own shuttle and parking, so you don't need a car once you've reached the island.
The National Aquarium is across town in Rabdan, Al Qana, where the site offers more than 1,400 free surface parking spaces plus taxi and bus stops nearby. Budget separate travel time between the two if you're doing both venues in one day.
With Kids and Accessibility
SeaWorld rents wheelchairs free of charge for the whole visit and strollers for AED 40, and it has two prayer and ablution rooms. The National Aquarium provides wheelchairs free with a valid ID at the counter, though children under 12 need a paying adult aged 16 or over with them to get in.
Best Time to Visit
Abu Dhabi's peak summer, July and August, brings maximum temperatures averaging above 40°C and intermittent sandstorms that can cut visibility, which is reason enough to spend that stretch of the year indoors at SeaWorld rather than outside. The cool season, November to March, is moderately hot to mild, with January the coldest month and only occasional fog and rain, so it suits combining an indoor park day with time outdoors elsewhere in the city.
