Tashkent Zoo and its collection

Tashkent Zoo, opened in 1924, is a zoo in Toshkent, Uzbekistan.

A small menagerie existed earlier at the governor-general's dacha, as part of an art museum there. The zoo occupied roughly three hectares and by the late 1940s displayed more than 200 species of animals and birds. A government decision in 1994 launched construction of a new zoo with landscape-style enclosures on part of the botanical garden, which came into use in 1997 and cost the garden a quarter of its land.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include Альпака, Бегемот, Карликовый бегемот, Пятнистый олень and Большой серый кенгуру.

Exhibits

Its exhibits include Копытные, Хищные and Мелкие млекопитающие.

Inside the zoo grounds, you will find a variety of small cafes, snack kiosks, and food stalls.
Parking spaces are available around the main entrance area of the zoo, making it convenient if you are visiting by a rental car or personal vehicle.
