Nordens Ark — Zoo in Sotenäs Municipality
Nordens Ark and its collection
Nordens Ark, opened in 1989, is a zoo in Hunnebostrand, Bohuslän, Västra Götaland County, Sweden.
The park is run by the Stiftelsen Nordens Ark foundation as a breeding facility for threatened animals, its name alluding to the story of Noah's ark in the Bible. Work covers some sixty threatened species, chiefly temperate mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles of the northern hemisphere, together with threatened Nordic domestic breeds. It is open to visitors year-round and receives around 100,000 visitors a year.

Animals on show include Amur tigers, red pandas and tortoises.

From 29 June to 9 August 2026, enjoy our daily summer programme with talks, animal feedings and guided activities throughout the park. The park is open daily from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Last admission is at 4.00 pm.
