Mitchell Park Zoo

Mitchell Park Zoo and its collection

Mitchell Park Zoo is a zoo in Durban, South Africa.

Standing in the Morningside suburb, it is the city's only zoo. It was set up in 1910 as an ostrich farm, and poor returns led to other animals being brought in. It once held large animals, best known among them an Indian elephant called Nellie.
