Istanbul Aquarium and its collection
Istanbul Aquarium, opened in 2011, is an aquarium in Bakırköy, Istanbul, Turkey.
The aquarium was announced in 2003 as a city council project, with the building tender held that same year at the Saraçhane municipal offices. Design changes dragged construction out to June 2011. It opened on 25 June 2011 with three free days followed by a week at half price.
Animals and collection
Animals on show include dişli sazancık balığı, zehirli taş balığından, limon köpekbalıklarına, vatozlardan and gentoo penguenlerine.

Its exhibits include KARADENİZ, İSTANBUL, MARMARA, ÇANAKKALE and EGE.
Things to do
Things to do include Feeding times, Underwater Explorer VR Experience, Giants of the Ocean and Photo shoot.

- Because the aquarium is integrated with the Aqua Florya complex, you will find numerous cafes, fast-casual food options, and sit-down restaurants offering seaside views right outside the main exhibit path.
- Ample parking is provided through the spacious underground parking garage belonging to the adjacent Aqua Florya shopping mall, available for an additional fee.
- The facility is designed to be fully wheelchair accessible, featuring ramps, elevators, and wide corridors that comfortably accommodate visitors with mobility needs.
