Zoológico Municipal de Guarulhos and its collection

Zoológico Municipal de Guarulhos, opened in 1981, is a zoo in Guarulhos, Brazil.

Wild free-ranging animals also live inside the grounds, whose lakes and gardens have been replanted with Atlantic Forest species. An enclosure for the endangered buffy-tufted marmoset opened in 2019.

Animals and collection

The collection is mainly native Brazilian birds, mammals and reptiles, with about 400 animals from at least 100 species facing a risk of extinction. Species shown include the blue-and-yellow macaw, golden lion tamarin, broad-snouted caiman, rhea, jaguar and king vulture.
