Zoo du Mont Faron, opened in 1968, is a zoo in Toulon, France.

The zoo was started in 1968 by Roger George De Souza and Etiennette Ribeiro De Souza. It occupies 1.5 hectares at 585 metres altitude, on the mountain summit above the town and port.

Conservation and approach

It is not an EAZA member and so sits outside the European endangered species breeding programmes. It has worked with CRESAM to promote artificial insemination of wild females using sperm collected from zoo animals, as a faster route to restocking than releasing captive-bred stock.
