Zoološki vrt grada Zagreba — Zoo in Zagreb
Zoološki vrt grada Zagreba and its collection
Zoological Garden of Zagreb, opened in 1925, is a zoo in Zagreb, Croatia.
Seven hectares in the southern part of Maksimir park hold 2,225 animals of 275 species drawn from nearly every continent. The collection spans mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates, shown in many open enclosures as well as small themed tropical houses and several pavilions. Renewal of the outdated grounds began in 1990.
What the venue says
- watch keepers feed and interact with animals like sea lions and seals at scheduled daily times
- Dobro došli u restoran „Kod morskog lava“!
- The zoo itself does not have a dedicated private parking lot, but there is a large public parking lot nearby located near the west stand of the Maksimir Stadium (accessible via Donje Svetice Street), right across from the park area.
- The pathways inside the zoo are generally flat, paved, and stroller-friendly, making it widely accessible for visitors with reduced mobility or families with young children.
