Zacango Zoo — Zoo in State of Mexico
Zacango Zoo and its collection
Zacango Zoo is a zoo in Santa María Nativitas, Mexico.
Covering 159 hectares close to the Nevado de Toluca, it holds over 180 species from around the world, 80 of them threatened with extinction. It opened on 29 August 1981, the date on which it was also designated a protected natural area, and is backed by the State of Mexico government together with CONANP, SEMARNAT and CEPANAF. The grounds were once a 16th-century Franciscan hacienda, later held by the counts of Santiago and Calimaya.
What the venue says

- There is dedicated parking available outside the main entrance for visitors arriving by car or tour transport for a standard parking fee.
- The park features wide, paved pathways making it largely accessible for strollers and wheelchair users.
