Two Oceans Aquarium and its collection
Two Oceans Aquarium, opened in 1995, is an aquarium in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
It opened on 13 November 1995, with several galleries fitted with large viewing windows. The name refers to the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic oceans.
Animals and collection
Animals on show include northern rockhopper penguins, ragged-tooth sharks, giant yellowtail, yellowbelly rockcod and African penguins.
Exhibits
The Diversity Gallery covers both oceans and the Benguela and Agulhas currents, with species including Knysna seahorses, morays, anemonefish, klipfish, sea stars, compass jellyfish and shysharks. The I&J Children's Play Centre runs puppet shows and craft activities.
Things to do
Things to do include Penguin Experience, Behind the scenes guided tours, Snorkelling Experience and Two Oceans Aquarium Dive School.
