Stratford Butterfly Farm — Wildlife Attraction in Stratford-upon-Avon

Stratford Butterfly Farm and its collection

Stratford Butterfly Farm, opened in 1985, is a butterfly house in Stratford upon Avon, United Kingdom.

Large greenhouses simulate a leafy tropical setting, with butterflies and birds flying loose, a fish pool, 22 roaming phantasmal poison frogs and two green iguanas. Insects and spiders are kept in glass cases.

History

David Bellamy opened the farm in 1985, and a 25-year milestone was marked on 24 July 2010. A fire on 3 June 2002 destroyed part of the glass nursery used to breed rare butterflies. The blaze was blamed on a jubilee firework that landed in a plastic pot beside the greenhouse.
