Ranger Red’s Zoo & Conservation Park and its collection

Ranger Red’s Zoo & Conservation Park is a zoo in Pinjarra, Australia.

Over 100 native and exotic species are kept, with a hands-on approach that extends to hand-feeding and to close encounters with snakes, rufous bettong and ferrets.

History

It was formerly named Peel Zoo, and made national news in 2012 when three Tasmanian devils got out. Narelle MacPherson and David Cobbold left in 2017 to run Warrawong Sanctuary in the Adelaide Hills, and the zoo took its present name in August 2019 after Bradley Holland, known as Ranger Red, took it over.

Animals and collection

Mammals kept include koalas, wombats, dingoes and kangaroos, and the invertebrate displays hold the giant prickly stick insect and the barking tarantula among others. Wild waterbird species also settle on the waterways running through the site.
