Oasis Park and its collection

Oasis Park is a zoo in Pájara, Spain.

History

Three islanders opened it in 1985 as a small plant-growing operation and camel farm. It belongs to the Iberian zoo body AIZA and to EAZA, and ranks as the largest conservation centre in the Canaries.

Animals and collection

The park was built on dromedary breeding for camel milk sales and is now the biggest camel farm in Europe; Cuvier's gazelle breeding stands out among its programmes.

Exhibits

Large enclosures keep groups in semi-liberty, including a breeding trio of African elephants.
