Monkey Park and its collection

Monkey Park is a zoo in Arona, Spain.

The park is built around close contact between visitors and animals, and is now noted for breeding several animal and plant species at risk.

History

It was founded by Francisco Reina López, still its owner and general manager, and began on a small scale. Most of its first animals came from the illegal wildlife trade, the islands then serving as the air and sea link between the Americas, Africa and Europe.

Animals on show include LEMUR COLA ANILLADA, COTORRA DEL SOL, COCODRILO CUBANO, MONO DE BRAZZA and Ualabí de Bennett.
