Mansfield Zoo and its collection

Mansfield Zoo is a zoo in Mansfield, Australia.

The collection numbers more than 220 animals, both native and imported. Kangaroos and deer roam loose and take feed bought on site. Four African lions are kept, two of them white, and their feeding is shown daily.

History

Steve Junghenn established the zoo at the start of 2000, opening with deer and native species; by 2005 it held two brother lions, Kitwe and Monbu. Bronwen Wilson and her husband Rodney gave up their Melbourne house and business for it.

Animals and collection

Animals on show include capuchin monkey, camel, sambar deer, fallow deer and White Lions.

Things to do include Lion feeding, Meerkat feeding, Main Zookeeper Animal Feeding, Handfeeding and Bus Tours.
