Halls Gap Zoo is a zoo in Halls Gap, Australia.

Billed as the biggest regional zoo in Victoria, it keeps around 120 species, native and foreign combined.

History

It began in the early 1980s under the name Wallaroo Wildlife Park. Owners taking over in 1998 relaunched it as a wildlife park and zoo, and it changed hands again in December 2007 to the present proprietors.

Animals and collection

Australian animals include wallabies, wombats, dingoes, emus and kangaroos, while the foreign stock takes in cheetahs, giraffes, ostriches, deer, monkeys and bison. Reptiles include saltwater crocodiles, birds are also kept, and the farm stock runs to donkeys, goats, guinea pigs, a pig, ponies and highland and longhorn cattle.

Things to do include Twilight Night Zoo Tours, Meerkat Encounter, Red Panda Encounter and Rhino Encounter.
