Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center and its collection
Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, opened in 1993, is a wildlife park in West Yellowstone, United States.
It opens every day of the year, and tickets cover two days running.
History
Lewis S. Robinson started the centre, which opened during 1993 as the Grizzly Discovery Center with three bears. It was conceived as a refuge for bears taken from the wild for being too bold around people. In 1995 it was sold to Ogden Entertainment of New York.
Animals and collection
Animals on show include grizzly bears, gray wolves, North American river otters, Yellowstone cutthroat trout and Arctic grayling.
Exhibits
Every bear on site was either a problem bear or the orphaned cub of one. The bears have a large outdoor habitat with a pool and waterfall as well as private indoor space, and are rotated so that different groupings mix.
Things to do
Things to do include BEHIND THE SCENES TOURS, Wolf Pack Chats and Enrichment, OnCell app, Museum Theater and playground.
