Abruzzo Zoo — Zoo in Rocca San Giovanni

Abruzzo Zoo and its collection

Abruzzo Zoo is a zoo in Rocca San Giovanni, Italy.

It is the sole surviving zoo in the region, following the permanent closure of the bioparco at Castel di Sangro in 2017.

History

The story begins in 2007, when animals from a family-run circus were temporarily placed on the site the zoo now occupies. It was first called Safari Park d'Abruzzo, and new operators changed the name from 2011.
