The aquarium opened its doors in January 2015. Its tanks hold close to 3,500 cubic metres of water, or some 900,000 US gallons.

Alexandria Aquarium
Aquarium in الاسكندرية
The aquarium serves a scientific and research role alongside its tourist function, and falls under the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries. It is a specialist centre for studying marine organisms and recording the biodiversity of the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Nile.
